The Term ASBO was originally a UK legal term meaning Anti-Social Behaviour Order. A law commonly used across London against behaviour seen as disruptive or outside the norm. For many young people involved in parkour, it became a symbol of being criminalised simply for moving differently. The law was eventually abolished, but the Stigma still stayed, and that mentality behind it still exists.

ASBO was founded by three kids from London. Through their experineces together they found freedom in pushing beyond limits and doing things a that the average person could never dream of doing, finding purpose in themselves that they couldnt find anywhere else.

We chose the name ASBO because it represents everything we stand for. Not to promote and glorify meaningless rebellion or destruction, but to challenge the idea that rules, systems, or other people should define human potential. Some of the greatest growth happens on the other side of what you’re told is “normal” or “acceptable”. Progress has always belonged to the people willing to question limits instead of obeying them blindly. Sometimes the establishment gets it wrong. ASBO exists as a reminder that perspective matters more than labels.

There is freedom in expression. believe in yourself, and understand that human potential is not found inside comfort zones.

Because if you won’t, who else will.

One criticism we often hear is that ASBO is bad for parkour's image. The assumption that the name associated with anti-social behaviour harms the sport and that we are glorifying that behaviour. While the whole reason we chose that name is to take back that term, and remind us Parkour is unlike any other sport. Most sports take place within carefully controlled environments, with fixed rules, boundaries, and objectives. Parkour isn't like that.

The reality is that many of the most groundbreaking achievements in our discipline were born in spaces that are societal grey areas. For example Estates, Highly busy areas, Rooftops, Roads, and many more unconventional training spots. Human potential will sometimes lie on the other side of that grey area.

For us ASBO is a reminder that to truly push your potential, you have to push the limits set before you. History shows that progress rarely comes from people who stay comfortably inside every boundary placed in front of them. Some limits exist for good reason. Others exist simply because nobody has questioned them yet.

Parkour itself exists because people questioned the accepted limitations of movement. We believe that blindly accepting every rule, expectation, or social norm can sometimes hold people back from discovering their true potential.  That is what ASBO represents. Not rebellion for the sake of rebellion. Not destruction and Not disrespect.

At the same time, we don't believe it is our responsibility to represent parkour in the exact way that everyone else thinks it should be represented. Many people will hate us. Many will love us. We love this sport and of course want the best for it. But no single person, team, or organisation should be responsible for deciding what parkour is supposed to look like. ASBO is simply our story and how we grew up. ASBO is us, not parkour.
